In June the world is your oyster....

I hear that summer just has come to New England and it is making me think about the dawn of delight I feel at this time of year.

I like to wake up early in the morning.  When the house is quiet and streets are empty I feel as though I have been let in on a magical secret and life is full of promise.  This started when I was a child and we would leave our house at the crack of dawn in order to make it down to our boat on the Connecticut shore with enough time to enjoy a full day/weekend on the sound.  It is an exciting feeling.  I have it early any morning and all day, every day during the month of June.

Whether it is the seedlings breaking through the earth to enjoy the light of day, or road side stands offering rhubarb, strawberries and asparagus, the month wets your appetite for the long and languorous days ahead.  The anticipation of meals outside, summer holidays and days at the beach, June is a beacon of hope and promise.

To herald in the month our showroom will be open from 9am to 1pm this Saturday the 1st.  With a small donation to our local food pantries 50% will be taken off your total purchase.
And.... if you are looking for things to do this month or more ways to help your neighbors in need join us in supporting these events.

  • Saturday June 29th - The 2nd Annual "Jonno" Gray 5k, at the Holyoke Lodge of Elks.  The event is in honor of Jonathan Gray, who left us far too soon.   Last year his family and friends used the even to purchase two defibrillators for both Holyoke High and Dean Technical High School, sponsor a cardiac screening  for young athletes in Holyoke and surrounding communities and award three $2,500.00 scholarships and supported the UMass Men's Crew Team.  Visit their Facebook Page to learn more.

This June I hope you enjoy that early morning feeling all month long...

Julie
