Good eats around here; Three Cafe
What is your favorite place for breakfast? In a recent poll, Three Cafe was the favorite among many fine local offerings. To anyone who has experienced the joys of eating there, this is no surprise. Chef Cathie Albrect's little restaurant on Belmont Ave is a monument to good eats in our valley.
Fresh. Local. Good Food. Springfield's hidden gem., is the tag line for the restaurant that has quickly established itself as a Springfield institution. The cafe was originally opened by transplants who fell in love with a house in Forest Park. They set out to establish a special place and were set to succeed before circumstance moved them back to their native California. As noted in an 2008 interview with Heather Brandon, Cathie Albrect was not looking for a restaurant so far from her home base in Wales, but the space found her and the rest as they say is history.
