Easy Multigrain Crackers
Crackers are the essential finger food that can make a party out of the barest of ingredients. This recipe is for a cracker that is a standout on it's own. Pair it with some hummus, a bit of goat cheese and you will have an appetizer people look for whenever you are at a party.
Preheat oven to 450 f.
- 1 cup sifted All Purpose Baking Mix
- 1 tbsp flax seeds soaked in 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup each sunflower, poppy & sesame seeds
- 1 tsp Picante Passion (optional - and use more if you want them spicy)
- 1/4 cup milk (or whey if you make cheese)
- 1/2 tbsp melted butter,
- Vegetable Oil
Thoroughly combine baking mix, seeds and spice. Fold in milk, butter and flax seeds. Dough will be
sticky, if not add a bit more milk until it is. Partially spread 1 large handful of dough out on a piece of parchment paper, using a dusted rolling pin or your hands. Drizzle vegetable oil on it. Place another piece of parchment paper over that and roll as thin as you can without seeing through the dough. Take the top sheet of parchment off and reserve for the next handful of dough. Place the bottom sheet on a baking stone or cookie sheet. Using a knife of pizza cutter, score the dough. You can also use a glass dipped in flour if you would like different shaped crackers. Reduce heat and bake at 350 f for 10 minutes. Rotate stone or pan and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
In my oven the sides bake faster than the center. I put the finished crackers in my cracker bin when they are cool and keep the centers on one pan to return to the oven when there is no dough left.
Crackers will last a month stored airtight and in cool dry and dark environment.

It's such a terrific idea to make your own crackers. I like know the ingredients are whole and fresh. No preservatives. These sound terrific.
