Sugar and Spice Nuts

This recipe is something an old friend shared with us.  It can be thrown together in minutes with just a few ingredients.  The simplicity makes it a perfect holiday choice.  Thank you Lynda Gruzenski!

Melt butter in a 4 quart glass casserole dish in the microwave. Stir in the brown sugar, Chinese 5 Spice or Russian Mulling Spice and water. Microwave on high for 1 minute. Stir in the nuts so they are well coated. Microwave for 4 to 5 additional minutes on high, stirring every minute. Spread cooked nuts out onto parchment or waxed paper to cool. Enjoy at home or place nut mixture into a decorative container for a tasty holiday present.

Tried this recipe but substituted Coconut Sugar for brown sugar as I always do these days - and mixed my own spices. Used 1/3 each pecan, walnunt and almonds. It was delicious and it's "all gone"!
