- 1 cup All Purpose Baking Mix
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1 egg
- 1 cup beer (try Gluten Free Redbridge From Anheuser Bush)
Add egg, beer and oil to one sifted cup of this mix. Beat until smooth. Dip chunks of food (see below) into batter. Fry in 3 to 4 inches of or oil at 375 degrees until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
Lower fat oven method: Use a small amount of oil to coat the surface of the food, then brown in the oven at the same temperature instead of deep frying.
Suggested foods for batter frying: fish fillets, shrimp, oysters, scallops cubed ham, cubed cheese, onion rings, cooked cauliflower, onion rings, zucchini strips, and mushrooms.
