Old Favorites For Baking: Butter Cookies

gluten free butter cookie mix

Every year at Christmas my grandmother would make her own Danish butter cookies. I would always rush through dinner so I could enjoy her melt-in-your mouth desserts. One Christmas I asked her for the recipe so I would not have to wait an entire year to have her cookies again. She gave it to me, but only after helping her wash all the dishes from our big holiday feast. This mix will allow you to enjoy butter cookies no matter what time of year.

Mix the  contents of this package with

  • 3/4 CUP BUTTER
  • 1 TBSP WATER

Blend all ingredients well. Dough will be stiff. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Roll out the chilled dough to ¼” thickness and cut with cookie cutters. Bake in oven preheated to 350F for 8 to 10 minutes. Decorate with your favorite frosting, dried fruits, candies or chocolate pieces.

INGREDIENTS: Corn, Arrowroot and Rice Flours, Orange Vanilla Sugar (Special Pure Orange Extract [alcohol, water, and orange oil], and vanilla extract [vanilla, water, propylene glycol, and caramel color]), and cane sugar.
