Pumpkin and Pecan Biscuits, healthy sustenance

Pumpkin soup in a pumpkin tureen with a healthy twist

In Barbara Kingsolver's "Animal, Vegetable, Miracle" she speaks of preparing pumpkin soup in the shells.  While the service was full of disastrous overtones the story is joyous.  The dish offers a glamorous presentation and earthy balance to a meal.   Pumpkins are full of health benefits on their own.  This recipe is made even better with the addition of yellow split peas.  Protein, two B-vitamins and rich in fiber, split peas add a hearty twist to this meal.
